One of the biggest skincare trends for 2020 is undoubtedly "minimizing aging". There are so many products and processes to help us do that. Even if it's just a few years, the goal is to live longer, healthier lives.
How does a beautiful young woman of any age accomplish that? When I read articles about the latest product trends and what you should look for in a face cream or facial wash, I hear more about what you should avoid. Specifically, I hear it's bad for my skin. That's not true!
In fact, many skin care products can be incredibly beneficial for your skin.
The problem is a lot of information is being used to promote products that have been proven to be ineffective. It can also be confusing for us to choose one product over another. To keep this short, here are some facts about face creams and face washes:
- No face cream or skin care product has ever been found to effectively lighten or even out dark spots. The sad truth is many of these products contain a combination of chemicals that will never do what they are advertised to do. It's far better to find an ingredient that will actually work.
- Many skincare products don't work because they are too harsh. That's a very important distinction to make. Some will strip the top layer of your skin, leaving the rest of it with a dull, dry appearance.
- When it comes to skin care products, ingredients that work by calming the skin are the best. That includes herbal extracts such as chamomile, raspberry leaf, aloe vera, and black cumin. These herbs are excellent for soothing the skin and soothing the symptoms of aging.
- Top-selling products that are popular for one reason or another aren't always the best. Many times it has to do with marketing hype or a product that has been released but hasn't been properly tested. A product must be effective before it can truly be called effective.
Another example is a home skincare system that may include products that contain a chemical called parabens. Parabens are actually used to protect the plastic that makes up these products and the rest of the cosmetics we use everyday.
For me, when talking about skincare trends, looking for products that contain ingredients like those mentioned above is the best thing you can do. They don't cost nearly as much and they're safer for your skin. Also, because they don't have a harmful side effect, they are safer and more effective.
There are also many other skincare trends you can learn about. The key is to find something that works.
